From the Assessing Department

The State Tax Commission adopted the following guideline regarding annual inspection of property within a local unit:  Local units are encouraged to annually inspect a minimum of 20% of the parcels in each property class each year.

In order to maintain accurate assessing records, The City of Luna Pier will be conducting 20% field inspections per year in order to comply with the State Tax Commission guidelines. 

During the field inspections, the Assessing Department staff will check the accuracy of City records regarding land, all buildings and update photos.  We will not come inside your home but may ask property owners to verbally verify that the data we have on record is correct.  If no one is home, we will conduct our outside inspection and leave a card requesting verification of the interior information for property owners to update and return to the Assessing Department.  Please be advised that because of weather, time constraints, or other circumstances, we will not take appointments.

The City of Luna Pier Board of Review will meet at the Municipal Building, 4357 Buckeye St., Luna Pier, Michigan, 48157, on the following days:

Organization meeting (No Appointments)

Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 at 8:30 am.

To Protest to the Board of Review by appointment, please Call 734-848-6495 for appointment, or if a non-resident you may protest by letter.  Letters must be postmarked by March 7th, 2017.

Monday, March 13th, 2017

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, March 14th, 2017

2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m

As required by Public Act 188 of the Public Acts of 1975, the tentative ratio

and estimated multiplier for the City of Luna Pier are hereby listed by class of property.  The ratio and multiplier are subject to the actions of the Assessing Officer and the board of Review and can be improved at their discretion.  The tentative 2015 factors to be applied to the assessed valuations, as established by the Monroe County Equalization Department, are as follows:
